HUMAN FACTORS CONSULTANT
ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY
BRISTOL (may be flexible)

Continuing the highly successful growth of the Human Factors Integration (HFI) consultancy business, a first class opportunity exists for a Human Factors Consultant to enhance capabilities in this area. The Human Factors Group is based at the company's Bristol office. However, geographical location may be flexible depending on your skills and experience, and our customers' needs.

Working within small project teams, you will be acting as a Human Factors Consultant delivering Human Factors work programmes as part of multidisciplinary projects undertaken by the Systems Engineering teams. You will also have the opportunity to undertake research into a range of Human Factors related topics directly for clients. As one of the UK's biggest providers of systems and engineering technology, the company works across a number of diverse markets, providing expertise to the defence, nuclear, power & energy, civil aerospace, rail, marine, petrochemical and industrial sectors.

To succeed as Human Factors Consultant you should have a degree level education (upper second class or above) in a Human Factors related degree and have Graduate Status within the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (and be actively pursuing MErgs status). You will have an appreciation of the role of Human Factors within multi-disciplinary projects and the ability to plan and deliver Human Factors activities as part of a wider programme. Knowledge of Systems Engineering is desirable and the motivation to help support the growth of our HF capability in new markets is essential.

You will have the ability to develop HF strategies for complex systems, from both a technical and commercial perspective as well as experience of delivering HF activities, particularly during the early concept and design stages of the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will have a good understanding and track record of undertaking formal HF analyses as applied to engineering programmes as well as experience of direct liaison with customers.
