We are currently seeking an Electrical Test Systems Engineer to join a team responsible for delivering world class test engineering solutions and service. They support the development and production of high performance automotive components, engines and hybrid electric systems which demand a multi-disciplinary test engineering team to continuously provide and advance test capacity and capability. Your role in this team will be to provide integrated electrical / electronic / control system projects from concept to implementation and customer acceptance. This is an excellent opportunity to join a Daimler AG company specialising in the design, manufacture and testing of Formula One racing engines and hybrid power units.

Role Responsibilities:
• Technical specification preparation of electrical / electronic / VSD test systems
• Technical / feasibility studies
• HIL System or sub system design and integration
• Modelling of mechanical / electrical / electronic systems including control algorithms and energy storage systems
• RT control system hardware & software design
• Design and integration into complex automation systems of high current DC supply test infrastructures
• Provide leading edge instrumentation solutions and guidance
• Test system implementation and leadership regarding electrical destructive testing
• Design and modification of systems to meet or exceed machine safety standards

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required:
• Electrical / Electronic Engineering HND or equivalent and significant industrial experience with portfolio showing learning to Degree level, or
• Electronic / Electrical Engineering Honours Degree or equivalent with relevant industrial experience
• 17th Edition wiring regulations certification
• Electrical design competency for LV systems, including high current 1 kV DC circuits
• Proven excellence in all mechatronic disciplines
• Matlab, Simulink, RT development of embedded systems, RT target systems, instrumentation, PLC – Rockwell , S7 etc. CAN, Profibus
• Member of appropriate professional body i.e. IET
