Here is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistics and Supply Chain professional to join as Department Head for this leading company which manufactures air conditioning equipment and systems.
As the Logistics (Supply Chain) Department Head you will implement and maintain the relevant processes, ensuring continual improvement of process performance, and compliance with all International Standards recognised by the company. You will achieve on-going customer supply satisfaction by managing the successful processing of customer orders from order receipt to delivery. You will achieve cost effective Finished Product delivery and storage, in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements by the effective management of warehouses and stock levels. You will achieve adherence to company, customer and relevant national and legal standards with respect to the logistics process. (for example: ISO 14001) and complete special projects to support company and/or customer initiatives (for example: returnable packaging). You will support the goals of all global sales groups by the proactive liaison with customer logistics departments and satisfy the needs of new customers and customers changing requirements. You will minimise Storage Working Capital, through controlling customer payments, in liaison with the Global Sales leader and accounts. You will also have responsibility for the development and achievement of an agreed financial budget for your particular area and manage the customer complaints to the required Quality Standards. Furthermore, you will support and comply with all company initiatives, rules and practices.
To succeed as the Logistics Department Head you must have a degree or equivalent qualification (plus Membership of logistics Institute) and have significant experience in Logistics. In this role you will have five direct reports and therefore it is essential that you have proven management experience. You will need good experience and understanding of overall supply chain and experience in any of the following would be useful: imports, order processing, ERP, MRP, strategic Planning, warehouses, auditing, quality management, Material Planning and Demand Planning. A second language would be a plus.
